About BC Daycares

Finding licensed child care shouldn’t be this hard

Anyone who’s looked for daycare in BC knows the drill: scattered listings, dead links, waitlists, and no easy way to see what’s licensed and where. BC Daycares pulls that information into one calm, trustworthy place, starting with Metro Vancouver.

What we do

We list licensed child care facilities across Metro Vancouver, built from the Province of British Columbia’s official licensed child care records. For each facility we show what we can confirm: licence type, location on a map, the health authority that licenses and inspects it, and a direct link to that authority’s inspection portal. Where it’s available, we add photos, hours, and ratings.

Every facility on the site is licensed and inspected by a BC health authority. We don’t list unlicensed care.

Where our information comes from

Our core data comes from the Province’s licensed child care dataset, used under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia, and refreshed weekly. We supplement it with information from Google. You can read more on our Data page.

We’re independent. We’re not part of the government, and we’re not affiliated with or paid by any facility. A listing is never an endorsement, and choosing care is always your decision to make. Verify the details that matter directly with the facility and the health authority.

What’s coming

We’re just getting started. Parent reviews and waitlist alerts are on the way. If you’d like to know when new facilities, $10 a Day listings, or new tools go live, join the list.
